on the bottom shelf

just in case

magazines

•

•

•

something eventually

will get

in

•

•

•

at waist level

all the yellow

prairie flowers

•

•

•

with the bird

on the shovel

I walk towards the moon

•

•

•

with a little water

we push back

on the prairie

•

•

•

the blue sky

darker without

the clouds

•

•

•

you remember

where you dropped

a pill or two

•

•

•

dry at their base

the saplings

tip over in the wind

•

•

•

in the twisted birch

the hens hope

to avoid the dog

•

•

June

stays purple

until the end
